Introduction

Logistics (supplying) Officer is a member the Coast Guard or an Armed Force responsible for overseeing the support to the militaries and other country protectors both at home and abroad. Logistics Officers can be stationary on military bases or spread as an active part of a field army, air force or naval force.

Logistics officer have to Participate in field-level planning formulation in the area of logistics. Participate in planning programme and giving advice on logistics considerations. And have to provide technical and operational support to the field office as well as advice on application of logistics management best practice, systems and procedures. And have to take initiative management improvement for the logistics functions.

Skill Requirement

He/she must have university degree in Business Administration, Management, Transport or in the above field. Five years of increasingly responsible professional work experience at national and international level in logistics. Job Duties

The major duties of a logistics officer are as follow:

  • Firstly to manage all logistics operation including all logistics assets in order to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Now to ensure that all staff are adequately trained, cross trained and identify any additional training needs to achieve high working standards.
  • Logistics officers have to co-ordinate and provide logistics support to on-going air, land, sea or rail operation in the area.
  • They have to support logistics staffs in other offices.
  • They have to supervise staff as required.
